My Systagyrl didn’t start as a planned business or a cute idea on a vision board. It started with a feeling.
A deep, profound feeling of being alone.
Tammi was living in Albuquerque, New Mexico and it seemed like she was always chasing people who called themselves her friend. Over 7 years, she kept flying back to Los Angeles just to feel some type of connection, because no one came to see her.
She smiled through it, suffering in silence but inside she was hurting.
Tammi remembers crying out to God one day, “Lord, I don’t think my friends even care about me.”
During that time she was also attending the funerals of loved ones that were gone too soon. It struck her how at these funerals everyone was pouring out their heartfelt love and appreciation to someone that could no longer hear them.
In 2008, life landed an unexpected gut punch. She was having health issues and had to undergo surgery. After the surgery her doctor informed her that they removed 13 lymph nodes and 8 of them were cancerous. She had stage 3 colon cancer.
Time. Stood. Still.
Humor had always been Tammi’s coping mechanism and as word got out about her diagnosis, calls started to pour in from family and friends checking on her, praying for her and asking if she needed anything. She looked up at God and said, “Lord, You know you could have had my friends call and check on me without giving me cancer!”

In The Moment
During the most emotional and physical depleting moments of her illness she was reminded of her favorite scene in Waiting to Exhale when the main characters realized that together they were an unstoppable force lifting and supporting each other through their darkest walk.
In that moment Tammi decided to lean on and trust God. She learned:
- Sometimes, God lets you go through something so you can finally see what you’ve been blind to.
- HE didn’t just heal her body. HE healed her heart.
- God revealed who her real friends were.
- HE gave her new eyes, and a new mindset.
- Her storm gave her clarity.
- And God gave her a mission.
Count on Me, the song from Waiting to Exhale became her mantra:
Count on me through thick and thin
A friendship that will never end
When you are weak, I will be strong
Helping you to carry on

My Systagyrl Is Born
From Tammi’s pain, came My Systagryl: A Movement. A Sisterhood. A community where no woman has to feel alone, forgotten or left behind. A network where we don’t just say “Call me if you need anything.”
We show up.
She knows what it’s like to be the strong one who’s silently suffering.
Tammi knows what it’s like to wonder if anybody truly sees you. And now—she knows what it’s like to be surrounded by SISTERS who actually do.
My Systagyrl is more than a name—it’s a promise.
It means:
- You can count on me.
- I can count on you.
- And we can count on each other.
So, if you’ve ever felt unseen, unappreciated, or unsupported… this space is for you.
Let’s heal together, grow together, and laugh our way through this beautiful, messy, magical life.
Because God’s got jokes—but HE also gives purpose.
Welcome to the family.
